an erotic journey
Taking a newly acquired digital video camera to bed with me, I discovered the fleshy, sensual, vulgarity of my hands through the viewfinder. They presented themselves in all their meaty rawness, autonomous and erotic. Vaginocentric, self-stimulating, skin folds covering bone. These are my hands, alive, the deep design desire of me, expressing and doing my life. Gazing, intensely, skin stretches to eternity until gravity-wrinkles bring back mortality. I find female essence in the spaces between skin and palms; ever present in empty mystery. This is my intimate, sexual, digit-theatre show. Content and ecstatic in my fleshy realms, I found the perfect antidote to a war-bombarded, media reality.
These photographs were taken during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
